AUTOMOTIVE LOCAL COMPONENTS MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (ALCMAN)
ALCMAN’s mandate is to:
Represent and protect the interests of indigenous automotive component and parts manufacturers in Nigeria, promote the development and utilization of locally manufactured automotive components,
support the implementation of Nigeria’s Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) and related industrial policies.
It facilitate access to opportunities, incentives, technology, and markets for local manufacturers, drive sustainable industrial growth, job creation, and economic diversification through local content development.
To be the driving force behind a self-sufficient and globally recognized Nigerian automotive manufacturing hub.
To build a globally competitive Nigerian automotive components industry by empowering local manufacturers through advocacy, quality standardization, supply chain integration, and continuous capacity building.
ALCMAN plays a leading role in policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the interests of local manufacturers are reflected in automotive and industrial policies.
The Association engages government ministries, departments, and agencies on policy formulation and implementation.
It also advocates for favourable fiscal incentives, tariffs, and regulatory frameworks that support local manufacturing.
promotes patronage of locally produced automotive components
and serves as a bridge between policymakers and industry players to ensure practical, industry-driven solutions.
Quality assurance is central to ALCMAN’s objectives. The Association is committed to ensuring that locally manufactured components meet national and international quality standards. Through collaboration with regulatory and standards bodies, ALCMAN promotes compliance with approved automotive quality and safety standards.
Encourages certification and continuous improvement among members.
Supports the adoption of modern manufacturing processes and technologies and enhances the credibility and acceptability of Nigerian-made automotive components.
ALCMAN works to integrate local manufacturers into OEM and assembler supply chains, both locally and internationally. The Association:
Facilitates linkages between component manufacturers, vehicle assemblers, and OEMs.
Promotes local sourcing and backward integration within the automotive value chain.
Supports market access and participation in procurement opportunities, encourages collaboration, partnerships, and clustering among manufacturers.
Recognising that sustainable growth depends on strong technical and managerial capacity, ALCMAN prioritises capacity building and industry development.

Training and skills development programs for manufacturers and the workforce.
Technical support and knowledge sharing on best manufacturing practices.
Facilitation of access to finance, technology, and industrial infrastructure.
Support for innovation, research, and product development.
ALCMAN is dedicated to driving Nigeria’s industrialization by fostering a resilient and sustainable automotive manufacturing sector. Through strategic advocacy and collaboration, we position our members as key contributors to the global supply chain. A core priority of our association is upholding the AfCFTA Rules of Origin, ensuring "Made in Nigeria" vehicles surpass the 40% local content threshold to compete across the continent.
ALCMAN proudly serves as a member of the NADDC Governing Board, ensuring that the voices of indigenous component manufacturers are central to national automotive policy and decision-making.
